Ruth Lauren is a Finnish-American filmmaker and actress dedicated to creating stories that bridge cultures and inspire hope.
With a global career spanning over a decade, she has mastered the art of storytelling from every angle—from the precision of script supervision on award-winning shows to the emotional depth of lead acting roles on the international scene. She holds a MFA acting degree from Guildford School of Acting and is actively pursuing her acting and filmmaking career in the UK.

About Me
Ruth has the ability to evoke emotions and connect with her audience through her message and characters. Her journey is defined by a relentless curiosity about the human condition, driving her to unite creative forces across borders to produce work that resonates with authenticity and purpose. Her most notable work includes working as the writer/director/showrunner of a kids’ TV-series “Mummola” (At Grandma’s), writer/director of a feature-length documentary “Olen Äiti” on motherhood, and the producer and actress of the short film “Sisareni”, which has been featured in over 10 film festivals worldwide including the Los Angeles Cinefest and The China Women’s Film Festival.
As a script supervisor she has worked on Finnish award-winning shows, such as Venla best picture winner “Erityiset” (The Specials), the Netflix production Dance Brothers and one of the most popular Finnish TV-shows “Syke” (Nurses). She has also stage managed a Broadway level production of “West Side Story” with director Tuomas Parkkinen and Finnish actors Maria Ylipää, Diandra, Chike Ohanwe as well as American actors Christian Mark Gibbs, Holly Sedillos, and Tonoccus McClain. Additionally she has worked with notable Finnish film directors Klaus Härö and Aku Louhimies.
A world traveler since her youth, Ruth has grown up with a multicultural background in Europe and America and is fluent in English, Finnish, and German. Based in the UK, she continues to seek innovative collaborations that push the boundaries of film and theater while championing stories of justice, hope, and kindness.
The Actor
Ruth has performed in over 15 commercials and short films, including Sisareni, which was featured in 10 film festivals worldwide. She has been seen in Finland on the TV series “Aikuiset” and served as a fight coordinator for the theater production of “Cross and the Switchblade.”
