An original dark comedy written for the cast by Joey Ellis,which explores the human trials of grieving and how disconnected we have become in accepting our destiny.

On a hot summer’s day, flying ants appear from the ground in an attempt to squeeze as much life as they can out of their time. At the same time, a family arrives at a hospital room to say goodbye to their dying mum and grandma.

The Unmanageable Sisters

The play is set in a flat in Ballymun, Dublin, in 1974. The matriarchal Ger Lawless has just won a million Green Shield Stamps, and has invited fifteen friends round to help her fill up her stamp books. As the night passes and the books are filled, the women clash over bitter resentments and deeply entrenched, generational differences over how a woman should live.

Savoy’s new interpretation of the West Side Story brings international star soloists and top Finnish performers to the stage, such as Maria Ylipää, Diandra and Chike Ohanwe, who was the Jussi Award winner in October 2020.

West Side Story deals with the uniqueness of love and the absurdity of hate. It asks if there is hope for us to live in a better world one day. The most famous songs in the musical are Maria, America, Tonight and Somewhere.

Our story

Ruth has been trained in the methods of Stanislavski, Chekhov, Meisner, Uta Hagen, Lecoq, Laban, and Suzuki. She has performed in over 15 commercials and short films, including Sisareni, which was featured in 10 film festivals worldwide. She has been seen in Finland on the TV series “Aikuiset” and served as a fight coordinator for the theater production of “Cross and the Switchblade.”

Ruth deeply values each individual’s story. By acting, she is able to tap into the life of others and better understand them.

Ruth desires to act in shows and feature films, such as rom-coms, dramas, and thrillers; and time period roles, similar to Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, and Jane Austen adaptations; musicals, such as Grease, Wicked, and Fiddler on the Roof; games and animation.
